Seen that trick used on me before... use Armor of Earth, Ward again melee or foes depending on what I have at the time, use area effect spells to clear off the minions... simple when you know how

Sorry I was talking about PvE not PvP should have been pretty obvious, nobody with half a brain takes a summoner necro anywhere near PvP they're far too reliant on corpses to be effective. What you said is perfectly true when talking about PvP but has no relevance to PvE PUGs.

There are two methods to play a minion master, Ventari's Sacrifice (to kep them alive) or Death Nova (to make their death useful). Both can be very useful.

But a minion master is somewhat binary, either he is extremely useful, or he is very weak. Most of the time it is the later, but it is compensated for those times he is useful. The "onslaught" scenarious where youy have to protect a npc against waves of monsters are much easier with a minion master at your side.
